A Bit of Moss

Hi, I’m the maker behind a Bit of Moss. This shop started with a simple idea: if you can’t find what you want in the world, grow it yourself.

It began small and slow, growing in its own corner, and it’s become a place for creating the things I always wished existed and for sharing them with anyone who’s looking for the same. If any of this “dopamine décor” adds something good to your day, then it’s doing its job.

A lot of what I make is rooted in that younger version of us—the kid who believed in fairness, kindness, and the possibility of making things better. I think that kid would be proud that you’re still here, still trying, and still choosing to care.

A Bit About Me

I’m just another anxious ADHD millennial trying to make something good in increasingly bleak times. My creative process is supervised (sometimes interrupted) by Robin, my fluffy white cat who’s convinced my Apple Pencil is a chew toy.

I’m progressive, queer, and firmly rooted in human rights and personal freedom. I split my time between touching grass and gaming, balancing pets and plants with a World of Warcraft raid night. It’s a mix that keeps me grounded, curious, and creating.

A Bit About Design Releases

I use limited print-on-demand runs to test new ideas in a responsible way. It lets me try out designs, see what connects with people, and avoid creating extra waste or overstock.

When something proves it has real staying power, I bring it into the studio and produce a small-batch edition. These versions use higher-quality materials and get the extra time and attention that comes with being made and shipped in-house.

It’s a simple cycle: explore, test responsibly, and upgrade the designs that earn their place. It keeps things sustainable, intentional, and aligned with how I want this shop to grow.

A Bit About How Things Change

I’m always learning and adjusting as I go. Designs may come and go, and materials may change as I track down options that are higher quality, higher in recycled content, and lower in carbon impact. I’m constantly wrestling with the realities of shipping, production, and cost so things can stay as affordable and responsible as possible.

Thanks for bearing with me as the shop evolves. Every upgrade, swap, and redesign is part of trying to make this work in a way that feels sustainable for all of us.

A Bit About Why I Do This

This shop is a hobby built around a full-time job, which means I keep my margins thin and my focus simple: I want to share the ideas that make me light up. I’m on this planet with a head full of sketches, jokes, and little bursts of dopamine, and it feels wrong to let die on the vine if someone else might enjoy them too.

This is the place where I get to put those ideas into the world—one small batch, print-on-demand experiment, or studio edition at a time. Thanks for being here to see what comes out of my head instead of letting it stay there until it fizzles away.

I just wanted you to know, this is me trying.

At least I’m trying.
