New Year, Same Moss
I have been wanting a place on this site where I can talk about what I am working on, what is coming next, and how I make decisions along the way.
This blog is that space. It is not a content strategy or a promise to post on a schedule. It is just a place to write things down while they are still in motion.
January felt like a reasonable time to start.
Looking back at 2025
I opened the Etsy shop in October of 2025 mostly to see if anyone would care. By the end of the year, 205 orders had gone out. That was more than I expected, and it still feels a little unreal.
I’m grateful for the warm welcome on Etsy and genuinely humbled that the strange little thoughts and drawings living in my head resonate with other people. Every order still hits me right in the feelings.
Knowing that my little brain worms resonate with people out there in the world means more to me than I can really put into words, especially in the times we’re living through. It reminds me that there are thoughtful, kind, likeminded people out there and that matters.
What I am working on right now
I am cautiously excited about the upcoming Muppet Show reboot and doubly so since little Bean Bunny has been the most popular guy in the shop lately. In fact, there may be a few more muppets making an appearance soon as a celebration of Rizzo and Bean (finally) being brought back to life by Bradley Freeman Jr.
I have also been thinking about Valentine’s Day, and about ways to express affection that are cute, nerdy, and not overly saccharine. The world could use more love right now, especially the earnest and self-aware kind which is my favorite.
At the same time, I am not insulated from what is happening in the world, or in this country. Some of that anxiety and frustration is finding its way into my art, which means you will likely see more pieces in the Resist & Persist category as things continue to unfold.
A quick values check
A lot of the decisions behind the scenes come down to materials and logistics. The paper and shipping materials I use are made with FSC certified recycled paper fiber, using 100% recycled content and a minimum of 80% post-consumer waste diverted from landfills.
This has been part of the shop from the beginning, and it is something I plan to keep prioritizing as things grow.
Moving forward
I do not have a fixed plan for this blog. Some posts will be about upcoming releases, some about process, and some will just be observations from running a small studio in real time.
If you are interested in that kind of transparency, you are in the right place.
